Term 4 Super Scientist



Super Scientist Competition


This semester children are asked to present a short (2- 5 min) presentation on a topic for the Super Scientist Competition. A PowerPoint presentation is not an experiment. Presentations should be an explanation of a topic from a scientific perspective such as an animal, life-cycle, planet, states of matter or any topic that your child chooses. Children are asked to have their presentations prepared and ready to present by Week 5.

What's been happening in Room 26...

Over the last few weeks we have been doing some exciting things in our class. Some of those things include working with our Buddy Class. We recently had a fun afternoon with our little buddies creating code to make our Bee Bots move around. We also teamed up with other groups to get our Bee Bots to dance together. Mr Meachem joined in with our technology afternoon and created a secret code for us to use. We had to enter the code into the Bee Bots then they raced against each other. It was so much fun! As part of the celebrations we took part in a parade to show off our wonderful traditional costumes from around the globe or our orange outfits. Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week. Learning Journey

Learning Journeys We would like to say a big thank you to all the parents and grandparents for coming to our learning journey on Tuesday. The students had worked hard throughout the term to produce some excellent work within STEM. They were so proud to show off their project design booklets and final products of their cars. It was wonderful to see the students explain the process of their designs and to articulate why their car may not have worked well. We hope you enjoyed taking part in their learning experiences. As we come to the end of term, we would like to wish you well for the holidays. It would be beneficial for the students to continue with their learning during the break. This could include times tables revision, reading and literacy pro quizzes, writing letters, stories, recounts or diaries and revision of Term 3 spelling.
