Science

Image
In science we have been learning about the 3 common states of matter, and on Friday we focused on the state of liquid. After discussing the different properties of a liquid we set to work to predict what would happen if we added water, rubbing alcohol, dish washing liquid, glycerol and vegetable oil to a clear container. In our groups, we worked very well at carefully pouring each liquid into the cup and soon we had some pleasant looking results. We discovered that when these liquids are added to the same container, not only do they take up the shape of the container, but they also layer themselves depending on their density ( d ensity  is a measurement that compares the amount of matter an object has to its volume ). We were quite surprised at how the liquids layered themselves, with only one student correctly predicting the order of the liquids. Everyone enjoyed working together as a team to find out the results.  - Mrs McIlwraith & Miss  Dowling

Dancing

Dancing is going really well this term and all students are participating enthusiastically. There will be no dancing in week 4, it will resume in week 5 as normal. Students are looking forward to demonstrating their skills at the dance parties in week 10. Keep up the great dancing everyone! 💃 -Mrs McIlwraith & Miss Dowling
