This week, students are to prepare their Super Scientist presentations for homework. They are to prepare a short 3-5 minute  experiment to show the class. They must be able to explain their experiments and the science behind it. It is also very important that they practice each night to ensure their presentation runs smoothly. All presentations with be done  in class in Week 5.

NAPLAN starts tomorrow (14th May) with our Writing test, so we would like to wish all of our students good luck and we know you will do well. We have included some tips to help you get through the next two weeks successfully and a schedule of when each test needs to take place. 10 Tips For Taking Tests  “No one really likes tests or exams. On the 8 th of April, we saw a special visitor his name was Karl Dewar. He went to Afghanistan and Solomon Islands as a soldier. At Solomon Islands, he went around there to make sure everything was okay. He gave kids lollies and rescued the people that fell in the well. Then, he joined the British army for 6 months and he traveled to Afghanistan for 6 months.   He lived in a base where there was lots of sand and mountains and there were farmers working in the fields. He talked about how he slept on these certain kinds of beds and also talked about how to keep water cold.   He talked about the shell of the bullet and that he brought them back when he shot the guns. He talked about the medals and badges he earned and explained how he got them and what some of the symbols meant. By Grace and Elisha

Thank you to everyone for attending the Parent Interviews. It is really important that we communicate throughout the year to discuss student progress and achievement. We are very lucky to have such a wonderful class. Please encourage all students to continue to practise reading, maths and typing narratives on the computer. NAPLAN will take place during weeks 3 and 4 next term.  The students enjoyed taking part in a design and technology activity today where they had to design and make their own Easter card. They look fantastic.  Have a wonderful holiday and we look forward to seeing you all back safely next term. 

Over the last few weeks we have been doing some exciting things in our class. Some of those things include working with our Buddy Class. We recently had a fun afternoon with our little buddies creating code to make our Bee Bots move around. We also teamed up with other groups to get our Bee Bots to dance together. Mr Meachem joined in with our technology afternoon and created a secret code for us to use. We had to enter the code into the Bee Bots then they raced against each other. It was so much fun! As part of the celebrations we took part in a parade to show off our wonderful traditional costumes from around the globe or our orange outfits. Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week. Design a Planet As part of Science this term we have integrated it with design and technology to help support the learning of our students. Part of our program consists of researching, designing and creating our very own planet. We will be constructing these planets next Thursday (4 th April). It would be very helpful if you could help us with some recycled resources you may have laying around the house.
